Learning to lean upon Jesus

Sometimes we worry instead of placing all of our fears on God. He promises to never leave nor forsake us. All we have to do is trust in Him.

I will be the first to tell you that it is not easy placing all reliance upon God. It is easier to consistently believe in what we can see and touch and feel. However, I will also be the first to tell you that that is the beauty about God. Although we cannot see him physically (other than in the beauty of life/the world) he is there and will never fail us

When we worry, we are doubting God’s abilities. We are saying to Him that He is incapable of holding the whole world in His hands. We are saying that He cannot move mountains. Worrying is a perfect example or manifestation of our lack of faith in God.

Joshua 1:9 says: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

When we feel ourselves beginning to worry, we should pray and seek His direction. We should ask for strength; ask to be made calm and focused. We should then place the situation completely in his care. We do so by pushing aside our worries and fears about the situation; choosing to see beyond the negativity and identifying the positive and good things in all situations.

While worrying less and leaning upon God does not mean that everything will go according to our plans, it means that whatever happens, in the end, we will be just fine.
